Steve Nyland - owner of College Street Originals

Steve Nyland took over the business in 2006 from the emigrated former owner (founder and friend) to avoid it being sold and shut. Steve's committed to maintaining and developing the business and above all ensuring the only outlet in Gloucestershire for many of it's products ranges continues to trade.

With over 15 years in retail, cheerful Steve is proud to be preserving this small business. He believes in looking after customers the way they used to be, before the days of profit over service.

Steve was delighted, and fortunate, to keep on the long serving and dedicated staff, that have over 60 years experience between them. We think this proves they actually enjoy working here and helping you find the right presents.

Sally has been working for Gloucester Pottery for over 26 years. With fantastic knowledge of the business and the products we sell Sally also can help with all of your framing requirements.

Cath has also been working at the shop for over 29 years. Crucial in sustaining the continuation of the business Cath knows all there is to know about the wide range of collectables we offer.

Stella is a relative new comer at the business only working here for 9 years! That said her knowledge of our products and ability to offer and advise you of our offerings and courteously and kindly offer advice and assistance.

Brenda's a new recruit to the shop but has picked up on our product range and what we can offer. Mum of the owner she's sure to tell the boss exactly what you, the customer wants, and like all the staff she'll go that extra mile.

History

Our business previously traded as Gloucester Pottery from the very same premises, in the shadow of Gloucester Cathedral, for over 28 years. The business has progressed from selling its own 'home-thrown' pots to specialising in a wide and ever changing range of unique and rare products as demand dictated. Over these years we have built up considerable and unrivalled expertise and our staff continue to offer their knowledge as well as the first class customer service you deserve and we know you like.

Despite all the years trading we're still a 'hidden gem' with a unique collection of gift ideas. We have many loyal customers we value greatly and know personally. New visitors regularly comment how well stocked the shop is, that they never knew it existed and how they wished they'd found it years ago!
