Alan Clarke's flamboyant excursion into a fantasy world of interacting shapes and colours captures the imagination in a uniquely personal way.

Alan Clarke is very much a 'hands on' designer with a deep knowledge of glazes and hand techniques. His knowledge is rooted in nearly thirty years' experience with Poole Pottery® covering every aspect of production. He has been involved in many of the leading edgy looks emanating from Poole over this period such as 'Dorset Fruit', one of Poole's best selling tableware patterns, and later was one of the leading 'Living Glaze' designers. After opening his own studio in Stoke-on-Trent his creativity has been given the freedom to reach new heights in a true art environment.

Glazed Art involves the application of different glazes which react with one another during the firing process to achieve the unique result you see on the Glazed Art Pottery Collections. Fine surface 'crackling' is a natural result of this process.

The main composition of each design is skillfully produced by aerograph technique and is enhanced with the use of the paint brush. Each design is created entirely by hand therefore each piece is unique, no two pieces will be exactly the same, and you will see that Alan's appreciation of colour an continuity is second to none.
